Settings
How the boards, the engine and the site look and behave for you.
Board
Every board on the site follows these: analysis, puzzles, training, play and the drills.
When you pick up a piece, dots mark the squares it can move to, and rings mark what it can capture.
The files and ranks along the board's edge.
Tint the squares the last move came from and went to.
Mark a king in check.
Slide pieces to their squares. With your device set to reduce motion, they never slide.
Board colours
The colours of the squares on every board.
Appearance
The site's colours. Light is the default.
Theme
Light or dark, on every page.
Analysis
How the engine starts on the analysis board. It runs on this device.
The analysis board analyses each position as soon as it is on screen. Off, the engine waits until you switch it on.
Engine lines
How many of the best moves the engine shows side by side.
Engine depth
How far ahead the engine looks. Deeper is more reliable and takes longer; 40 is slow on most devices.
